Default Seeking Advice: Type11 Install - 03-22-2009, 04:29 AM

Greetings. I am seeking a bit of advice in trying to install OS-X in my new Dell Mini 9.

I am installing it using the Type11 method. By taking a large USB Jump Drive I am making two partitions, one for the Type11 and the other is an image of my retail OS-X 10.5.0 DVD.

The install seems to go fine but at the end gives a boot error, I've been told this is normal and to continue the install.

From there the system reboots, I go back into my Type11 boot screen, and as per the instructions type 80 for the SSD and then -f. The instructions claim that should be all that is needed to be done. I reboot my system but are presented with the generic Apple Crash Error Message. I am stuck at this point, anyone have any advice on how to solve this?

Re-install using the DellEFI method. That's just my thought, it's the most supported on these forums.

Hardware, yes. Software, yes. Code - Why do you think I'm here?

You need to update to 10.5.6 before you can boot off the internal drive with the Type11 method. Either way, you should use the DellEFI app to bring your Mini up to the current state of the art.. A dozen things have been vastly improved since the last version of Type11 came out.

Tired of wondering if your Mini9 is doing ANYTHING? - Add a HDD Activity LED
