Going back to 1.0.
With 1.1 the battery icon does not display the correct information.

UpdateExtra utility

What's happening with this now? I replaced the ApplePS2Keyboard.kext as I have done ever since I started using my Mini 9 because I have a UK keyboard. It's still located in the same place it was before (/Extra/Extensions1).

Now when running UpdateExtra it doesn't seem to do anything with this kext. The keyboard fix that should have occurred after reboot doesn't happen (it worked fine in the previous version of DellEFI). Does UpdateExtra now only affect files in Mini9Ext (which seems to be a new folder). If so, do I need to put the keyboard kext into this folder and run it? What happens to the old kext which will still be in /Extra/Extensions1?

Edit: Doesn't seem to make any difference whether I replace the ApplePS2Keyboard.kext in the old location or add it to the new Mini9Ext folder. It doesn't seem to get picked up when I run UpdateExtra.

Edit2: Fixed the keyboard problem by setting permissions on my custom ApplePS2Keyboard.kext manually and running:

Code:
sudo kextcache -a i386 -m /Extra/Extensions.mkext /Extra/Extensions1
I'm not terribly knowledgeable about kextcache though and how it uses the path information - does issuing the above command ignore all the stuff in the Mini9Ext folder? The machine rebooted fine after running it.

Thanks so much for all the hard work, it is greatly appreciated!

Not a big deal here, but I figured I'd add it to the list- my battery icon looks accurate, but every time I unplug, wake up, or turn on my mini, it gives me a warning saying that I have one minute left before hibernation and a big red empty battery icon. Nothing happens, but it complains. The percentage and the icon are both reported correctly and will happily run for hours, but the time always now says 1 minute remaining.

Let me know if anyone needs more info from me to help fix this issue!

Edit: Huh, well I just used DellEFI to remove the custom system aml file and then reinstalled the extensions as well as generated the aml file again, and for some reason it worked fine this time. I had tried that, but oh well! I guess if it's working now my problem is solved.

Appreciate all the hard work on getting this software up and running.

Everything is working well on both my Mini 9's . Both have 32GB SSD drives being a Runcore and a STEC. Easy install and sleep is working.

I would love some touchpad scrolling on the next round if possible.

The Extensions1 folder is now replaced with the new Mini9Ext folder. Put the new kext in Mini9Ext and then run UpdateExtra and the reboot. Not sure why it did not work for you... might just be a bad sequence of event since you had put it in /Extensions1...

Thanks to all of you for your efforts. I run windows on most machines due to the cost effective
nature of hardware etc. I have to say, I am very pleased to be back in a machine that has a great GUI
and is easy to navigate.

Although I am still awaiting my 32GB Runcore from MDD, I am happy to boot into an ext HDD for now to run OSX.

Keep up the good work!

Have you followed the right upgrade process? Run DellEFI and remove dsdt as prompted then run DellEFI again to perform the actual upgrade?

What BIOS version are you running? If anything this release should bring better battery metering, not worst.

This is a great release cause now I can disable Bluetooth in the BIOS without the Dell Mini 9 locking up. That didnt work with the release I was using before, though not sure which one exactly that was.

i installed 1.1 final and my dell and so far it has been working like a champ
thanks guys

I'm not sure if this matters, but because i have a runcore I have been going into the DellEFI package and removing the PATA hacked drivers from the extensions folder so that it does not install that.

I just see that having a modified driver can't be good if there is no reason to have it. Not sure if you would want that to be a checkbox in the future.

I manually deleted the dsdt.aml file and then ran the 1.1 installer. It hung on the initial reboot w/ a black screen. But a hard reset later and everything is working. Sleep, the battery meter seems to report correctly, and I have ZERO serious complaints about this setup. I love all the work you guys have done and I really appreciate this fantastic MacBook Nano.
