After a number of various incantations and offerings, Leopard booted up fine.

I noticed, however, that the battery had gone from 75% under Ubuntu to 75% on OS X and then, with only running for maybe 10 minutes it plummeted to 5%, so I quickly plugged the power supply back in.

I left it plugged in over night and this morning it still said 5% and it wasn't kidding. Instant shutdown when I unplugged it. Left it plugged in and went to the office ...

This evening, it still said 5% "not charging" and it was not lying.

I had planned to upgrade to DellEFI 1.1 tonight anyway, so I downloaded, unzipped and ran it.

Now my battery says 100% but IT'S LYING! Instant shutdown upon pulling out the A/C adapter.

So do I have a bad battery AND DellEFI 1.1 is lying to me?

Otherwise, this little monster is doing fine and I am trying to get Garage Band loaded on it so I can get to work in the studio...

Just want to know if I should get that new battery ordered ASAP ...
yeah, get it replaced...

Is there any way to recover from bad DellEfi 1.1 update?
Osx was running fine on my mini, but for some reason I've tried to reinstall 1.1.
I ended up with a non booting machine.
Using -v -x -f options I see that boot stops at some line
mDNSResponderHelper[95]: mach_msg_server: (ipc/send) invalid memory.

Is there any way to boot off a USB drive and recover my mini or I have to re-install osx from scratch?

This won't do you much good with your laptop. Hardly any of the hardware is the same.

Boot into single user mode (-s) and remove your dsdt.aml file:

Code:
mount -uw /
rm /dsdt.aml
reboot

The description contains "Only the old version of AppleIntelFrameBuffer is installed when you want "mirror with artifacts". The GMA950 kext have nothing to do with it working."

I installed OS X onto my mini 6 weeks or so ago and chose this option. Now I'm getting tired of the occasional grey square that shows up and don't need mirroring, just multiple displays. If I were to go to my 10.5.6 install DVD or perhaps the 10.5.7 Combo update, can I just grab the AppleIntelFrameBuffer using Pacifist and get the better display code? For that matter am I looking for a .kext or what?

In other words what does it take to undo having chosen that checkbox?

Ooopps, just posted somewhere else (dellefi1.2a5 thread) and saw these posts. I indeed has the same problem with my brand new cherry red mini9. For info, I installed os 10.5.7 with dellefi 1.2a5. Does it make a difference?

hello, was running 10.5.7 for weeks now fine was being the operative word here. I installed the new quicktime, itunes, raw image, airport updates release yesterday and today, then on reboot I have kernel panic can't get to safe mode. Any advice would be great or I will have to format. May just go to windows 7 so I can network better at home.
