I get a lockup on a black screen when waking from sleep with this (after choosing the remove hibernate files option too), but other than that works great.

Sorry for the noob question but what does UpdateExtra do? Do I need to run it after running DellEFI?

Thanks.

It runs the following command, which adds all of the kexts in /Extra/Mini9Ext to the extensions cache so that os x / the boot loader can find them.
Code:
sudo kextcache -a i386 -m /Extra/Extensions.mkext /Extra/Mini9Ext/

Ive already ran DellEFI 1.07.1 but I just did it cause the walk through said so, I'm not really a hundred % on what the app all does. I was wondering though, can I download and run the DellEFI 1.1 even though I've already ran the older version? Do you have to uninstall anything? Is there any benefits? I'm not really having any problems now except an occasional freeze on the apple screen. Any advice would be appreciated.

For a vanilla Mini 9 install, should I run the command? I took a look at the files in the Mini9Ext folder and some of them sound important (like AppleIntelGMA950.kext) but I wasn't sure if they were. Are they Apple versions of the kexts that DellEFI already installs?

Thanks.

You only need to run it if you go and change around your kexts. DellEFI automatical runs it when it updates the kexts. The kexts in /Extra are either patched apple kexts, unpatched (but required to load the patched kext) kexts, or third party kexts for the network and sdhc card.

how did you load the 1.0 image? i can't get it to recognize my flash drive as an option to boot from. all i know is that i'm getting the gray screen with the spinner forever. if I need to start all over again i will, but right now i can't even do that because my flash drive (with syslinux on it) is not recognized . . .

in know there's an easy way to do this, just have no clue !

Arrrrgh ...

So last night the cherry red refurb Mini 9 arrived, along with a 2GB DIMM and a 32 GB SSD to replace the 1 GB/4GB SSD configuration.

I replaced the RAM, ran the Ubuntu updates while I prepared my Leopard USB image and the other USB stick. Once Ubuntu was done, I shut it down and replaced the 4GB SSD with the bare 32 BG SSD and got started installing OS X.

After a number of various incantations and offerings, Leopard booted up fine.

I noticed, however, that the battery had gone from 75% under Ubuntu to 75% on OS X and then, with only running for maybe 10 minutes it plummeted to 5%, so I quickly plugged the power supply back in.

I left it plugged in over night and this morning it still said 5% and it wasn't kidding. Instant shutdown when I unplugged it. Left it plugged in and went to the office ...

This evening, it still said 5% "not charging" and it was not lying.

I had planned to upgrade to DellEFI 1.1 tonight anyway, so I downloaded, unzipped and ran it.

Now my battery says 100% but IT'S LYING! Instant shutdown upon pulling out the A/C adapter.

So do I have a bad battery AND DellEFI 1.1 is lying to me?

Otherwise, this little monster is doing fine and I am trying to get Garage Band loaded on it so I can get to work in the studio...

Just want to know if I should get that new battery ordered ASAP ...
