I have installed with the two USB stick method several times and have always experienced complete success. Today it fails ! ! !
I had been running a 32GB STEC SSD
as a test bed and decided last night to do a fresh install of OSX on this test bed. Used the same USB sticks I have always used . . . known good devices.
Everything works as expected until I get INSTALL FAILED. After that I remove the OSX Install Stick and power down. Then I power up and launch into the final part of the installation process.
Select "United States"
Select "U.S." for keyboard
Select "Do not transfer . . . "
At that point the system freezes for a long time, then drops back to the Country (United States) selection panel. This will repeat for as many times as I try it.
I am completely stumped. I even started over with my known-good backup USB sticks with the same result, exactly.
Please help ! ! ! ! ! Any ideas ? ? ? ?
