I've tried to combine some of the guides on this site, and others on the net, to get OSX and win7 running on the same machine, without having access to a Mac.
In short: Used disk utility to partition SSD
into 2 partitions with MBR, not GUID.
Installed OSX to the second partition (boots from DellEFI Bootloader USB stick fine)
Installed Win7 to the first partition (boots by itself fine)
Ran EasyBCD to create MBR entry for OSX
But when i try and select OSX from the Windows Boot Manager (not using any USB sticks now), i get:
Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
So i thought 'i havent run DellEFI yet', so i booted into OSX using the USB stick as bootloader, ran DellEFI.
Then tried to boot into OSX from Windows Boot manager on the mini9...i got:
Chain Boot Error (or something to that effect).
I confirmed both partitions are primary. I found chain0 from the OSX install disc, and put that on my win7 c: drive (as suggested on the net)
Tried to boot into OSX from Windows Boot manager on mini9...i now got:
White apple logo and nothing else.
After a few minutes i rebooted the mini9 into win7, had a play with EasyBCD some more, and now im back to getting the \nst\nst_mac.mbr error again.
Obviously im missing something important here, but its beyond my understanding. I noticed that the dual booting XP/OSX guide on mydellmini has 3 partitions -one being EFI. Is that necessary to dual boot?
Or do i need to tinker with my OSX partition to allow Windows Boot Manager to kick start it ?
