I just got my Dell Mini 9 today and discovered that the Leopard DVD I have 10.5.6 won't fit on the 8GB Hard Drive. So I ran DellMini123 (v. 8.1) and installed to an external WD 120GB travelmate HD. I was planning on uninstalling and shrinking the image and then using the disc utility to restore to the internal SSD
of the mini.
The problem I ran into is that I can't figure out to boot leopard off of my external USB HD. In the boot sequence I have set Removable Devices and USB Storage to the top 2 priorities. I have also tried to manually boot the driving by hitting 0 when starting up.
No matter which way I try it always get the following:
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.
Operating System not found.
I have read on forums where others were able to install to an external hard drive, shrink the image and then move it over to the internal SSD
What am I missing or doing wrong?
