Default Circle with diagonal strike through - 03-17-2009, 06:09 AM

I've installed OSX and got it working before with an external drive with a power supply. I tried to do a reformat and fresh install with a external samsung drive that has 2 usb ports on one side,so I have to plug it in the left side.I boot up with the dell mini boot cd,and afterwards I put in my OSX dvd. when OSX installer is loading, a CIRCLE with a diagonal line through it appears. and it just sits there. When I try it with the external drive with the ps plugged on the right side of the mini it works. Is it because its plugged on the wrong side?
