Or go to the Apple Store and tell them you're a PC user looking to switch to Mac and would like a demo. In a way, it's actually true. They will probably try to sell you a Mac after the demo is over, but you can simply decline. You can even just go to the Apple store and play by yourself. I've done that many times, and they only ask you if you need any help once every 10-15 minutes or so. They always have A LOT of commonly used Apps installed on the Macs in the store too, so you should be able to get a good feel with how the OS operates.
Also, I think it's worth adding, that once you get a taste of OS X on your DM9, you're probably never going to look back. It's really that good! As an owner of 4 Macs, and one Hackintoshed DM9, I can almost assure you that if you like OS X on the DM9, you'll crave more performance and be back at the Apple store researching a "real" Mac to buy.
First post, btw!

OSX > Windows
Buy a legal retail copy from eBay. Make sure it's NEW IN BOX aka NIB
If you want a demo just go to an apple store and play with a computer. It's not rocket science. As far as Linux goes everything on Linux is harder. You have to use the Terminal a lot in Linux. I have my desktop running 9.04 ubuntu. I come from a windows pc evironment. I use it everyday at work and own a dell inspiron laptop as well. I can't stand windows with it's slow responsiveness, freezing, viruses, spyware, etc. It's frustrating and I'm glad I made the switch. I'm going to give my inspiron (windows) away and stick with my macbook and dm9hackintosh.

i honestly should have said "to the end user it's worthless", the gui experience on linux is the definition of half ass.... sloppy as hell, inconsistant, 300 ways to do everything and the gui's are just windows and os x mashed together with like a next or amiga flare .
