Default Wifi Sharing - Does it work? - 03-14-2009, 02:44 PM

I was just wondering, can the wireless card in a Dell Mini 9, with OS X installed, be used to share a wifi signal?

The hotel that I stay in has only a wired connection. Normally, I just use my MacBook to share a wifi signal so that I can download podcasts via wireless to my iPhone.

Also, does the touchpad's scroll feature still work, or does multitouch work?

Not sure what you're asking. If you're asking whether the wifi card is enabled in osx on the mini-9 and can be used to access wireless access points, then the answer is yes. I'm doing that right now.
If you're asking if you can connect to wired connection on the mini-9, and then share that connection to other devices by setting up the mini-9 as a wireless access point, then the answer is yes again.

re multitouch, no, I haven't been able to get it to work.

Yep. I was asking about wifi sharing.
That's perfect for me then.
I think that I'll order one right now and will put OS X on it.
