Default hd(0,2) OSX - 03-13-2009, 03:11 AM

I'm trying to troubleshoot a few issues....the major one being that I can't get my new OSX install to boot other than in safe mode.

When I boot using DellEFI, when I select the SSD, the prompt says "hd(0,2) OSX". If I understand correctly, this would mean my first drive, the SSD, and the second partition. (the partition name is OSX).

What I don't understand is why is it the second partition? When I formatted the SSD, I only put one partition in...shouldn't it be hd(0,1)?

Any help would be appreciated...I am hoping this is somehow related to the wierdness I am experiencing (only boots in safe mode, no sound).

Thanks for any and all help!!!!

Partition 1 is likely the (hidden) EFI partition.

Refurbished Cherry Red mini 9, 2 GB, RunCore 16 GB SSD; Bluetooth, 1.3 MP Webcam;
Mac OS X 10.6.7; NBI 20100616212351; BIOS A04, USB Legacy off
