I doubt it.

Meanwhile, Apple also details which GPUs will be supported for their upcoming OpenCL API. OpenCL will allow developers to easily offload additional processing tasks to the computer's GPU. Some tasks may find greater benefit from this than others, but could potentially offer substantial performance boosts. The list of supported GPUs include:

- NVIDIA Geforce 8600M GT, GeForce 8800 GT, GeForce 8800 GTS, Geforce 9400M, GeForce 9600M GT, GeForce GT 120, GeForce GT 130.
- ATI Radeon 4850, Radeon 4870
Notice that not only is our lowly GMA950 not listed, but its not really in the same class.

I'm more curious how difficult it would be to support an ION based models supported as a Hackintosh (a "lightweight" dual core ATOM combined with a fast nVidia chipset seem like it should still be pretty light on the power drain while providing enough oomph to decode HD and the like).

Dell Mini 9 - Cherry Red. 2GB RAM, 64GB RunCore, BlueTooth, 10.6.7 (working on getting 10.6.8 'working' )

A quick question for the couple of you brave enough to try this out: did you feel a significant change in running temperature?

I doubt it.

You're right, the specs came out this week for open CL. The Atom, and most ATI cards for that matter are not supported.

Since this only bumps the clock speeds and not voltages, it doesn't increase the temps. I've used it in Windows 7 and OS X and neither got any hotter using it

Warning, we don't have cooling fans so it could be dangerous.

It's still in beta :

GMABooster :: Download (Mac OS X)
how the heck did you get this downloaded from this irritating site?

Wait 80 seconds to get the free download. Annoying as heck.

As for the temperature I kept watch on it with coolbook, and I'm noticing bit warmer than normal. With the movie running (which I do notice maybe slight faster load/fast forward) it's running about 5 degrees hotter.

Which brings me to a question, what temp is too hot? With external monitor plugged in and music playing in the background i have recorded 65 Max. Should I be worried and get laptop base fan? Usual running temp varies from 40's to low 50's.

It seems activating dock brings up the temp by 5 too.

If I remember correctly (it's been a while), power dissipation in CMOS circuits occurs when transistors switch and parasitic capacitances are charged/discharged, and is therefore directly related to clock speed. So, even at the same voltage, more switches per second (Hz), more power dissipation per second (linear relationship).
Increasing the voltages increases the dissipated power quadratically, however (twice the voltage - 4 times the heat generated).

Or you could get this to set the mini9 GMA to 400Mhz:
GMA OverClocking

Mini1: Vostro A90, Black, 2G, 1.3 Webcam, Bluetooth, 64G SuperTalent, OS X 10.6.4
Mini2: Mini9, Black, 2G, 0.3 Webcam, Bluetooth, 32G RunCore, OS X/Win 7, internal PCI-e SHDC Reader
Mini3: Mini10v. Black, 2G, Webcam, 640G HD, OS X 10.5.8/Win 7/Ubuntu [Hibernate w/NBI 0.8.3 RC4]

I got it. Installed it. I notice no difference. How can I even tell if it's doing anything?

Run Xbench before you install. Run it after. Compare results. I see a small increase, not sure how that translates into real world speed.
