Default Suggestion for 2 FAQs - 03-05-2009, 01:07 PM

I don't think I've seen these come up as questions directly, but this could still be useful reference material in the FAQ are, IMO.

1. What do I enter at the first boot prompt (with boot123)? 80,81,9f are the usual answers, but is there some reference that shows what these refer to? (80=first disk, 81=2nd disk, 9f=dvd...) But where do these numbers come from? Other boot prompts I'm familiar with would have you id something by bus, device id, lun, etc.

2. What are all the flags one can add to the Darwin boot prompt? (do I have that name right?) I've seen mention of -x and -f but they're often simply stated without saying what they do. Is there a reference out there on the www for this?

Thanks for your consideration!
