This must be hardware related. Nothing to do with the OS. Most likelly a defective battery.

Try taking the battery out and put it back in...

You might want to give this a try:

With battery installed and Mini powered off, remove the power adapter.

While holding down Fn+B reconnect the power adapter, the front panel lights should flicker momentarily.

Release Fn+B then press the Mini's power button. The Mini should beep once then do nothing.

Disconnect the power adapter, disconnect and reconnect the battery then reconnect the power adapter.

Turn the Mini back on and after booting into the OS confirm that the battery is now charging.

If not on BIOS A03 or A04, it is also recommended to flash up to this latest BIOS: http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/bios-up ... t1063.html

thanks for the advice, I did that. When I did the Fn+B instead of making of making one beep it makes three [long short long] and repeats that. When I boot it up it says the battery is at 0% and that it is not charging the battery. Any advice?

I had this problem too. My mistake was, I checked the option under windows for not loading the battery until next reboot. Then I installed Leopard.

I solved it with a SSD from a pal, who had still his origininal windows installation. So I swapped the SSDs, rebootet once or twice and made sure the battery is loading. Then swapped the SSD back. The battery was then behaving normally under Lwopard.

I think it's similar to the bluetooth-issue: Some poeple reported bluetooth not functioning under osx if it was disabled under windows. There must be some Hardware-Bios-Extensions which are not supported by the OSX drivers (yet).

Just my 2 €-Cents

Would you mind telling me (us) where this option is in Windows.
Wouldn't want to make the same mistake you did when I get my mini, cheers.
