Boot123 / DellEFI versions - 02-25-2009, 12:46 PM
Having studied these forums carefully, I just made my first successful install using the Boot123 v8.02b.
Congratulations and thanks to all contributors, it's an amazing piece of engineering!
I have one question: I am looking at the code repository here: http://code.google.com/p/mydellmini/downloads/list, and watching the developments on the DellEFI 1.1 release. How can I easily tell which version of DellEFI was packaged with Boot123 v8.02b - as that's the version I am presumably using now?
PS - for what it's worth, I have the same sound issues discussed here by others. Normally starts right after OSX makes another sound for some reason (like a "bing" noise) after which I sometimes get 1-2 mins of "swooshing" sound - best described as holding up a microphone in a windy situation. After 1-2 minutes it stops suddenly with a little "pop". If I mute the sound in OSX during the "swoosh" it goes quiet. Unmute, and it comes back until the 1-2 minutes is up.
Doesn't seem related to Disk access (and doesn't sound like that type of "crackly" interference) plus I didn't experience this while running WinXP.
Not a huge problem for me, but seeing as everything else is just about perfect, it's the only thing that bugs me from my point of view.
