I just bought a mini 12 and like to install mac os 10.5 on it. I saw in many forums that it is running on the mini 9. I tried with my mini12 with one tutorial found on internet but unfortunately, it failed: the installation starts but freezes few minutes after the beginning :cry: Has anybody tried and succeded ? If you did, please give me some help. Thanks in advance.

The Mini 12 has the GMA 500 graphics chipset which will not work with the method that we use here. In fact, I have not seen anyone who has gotten the GMA 500 to work as of yet (but hey, maybe someone has).

I'm actually looking for a dell mini 9 or dell mini 12. I would like to know if mac os should also run on a dell mini 9... Thanks for futur answers.

electronick, go with the Dell Mini 9, the OS X installation is pretty flawless now. It works great, I use mine on a daily basis. As for the Dell Mini 12, if you want Mac then stay away from it. It will not work on it right now, and I doubt there will be much done to fix it. It uses totally different hardware from the 9, and no one has gotten it to even get to the installation part. I'm sure someone out there could be working on it, but it doesn't have the appeal and compactness the 9 has, and it is much harder to modify. Don't keep your hopes up on the 12.

I have an macbook unibody 2.4 but I will sold it because it's a too expensive computer for the usage I have. I'm always working on my iMac at home... and in the train I'm a bit worried when working with a 1500€ machine.

I'm shure I'll love this forum when I'll have my new Dell...

Hey, I understand where you're coming from. It's really hard to carry around an expensive MacBook everywhere when people know how pricey it is. My Mini was about 1/4 the cost, so I feel more comfortable taking it everywhere. When you get your Mini, just follow the guides carefully, and if you have any questions we are here to help.
