Remote Disc - still no workie - 02-21-2009, 09:33 PM
1. Thanks for all the awesome help (especially unaclocker who convinced me to go for it). :mrgreen:
2. My install history was DellMiniBoot123v7.9 and MiniScriptv7.11b5 (note: for some reason I had to run that beta version, as the non-beta version of the time didn't work)
3. After a few hiccups got it up and running, and has been smooth for about 3 weeks. :geek:
4. Updated to new script today via the updated "how to" thread - it got hung-up on shutdown, but booted OK and all is well
:arrow: 5. Thing is, I never had, and still don't have, Remote Disc
What I do have is "Remote Disc" listed under devices in the Finder sidebar, but what I do not have is "DVD or CD Sharing" option listed in the System Preferences "Sharing" utility (operation outlined in this doc from Apple).
I'm stumped. What am I missing :?: :!: :?: :!:

You need to run two scripts via terminal in your mini and reboot the computer. Instructions here:
no remote CD to check in System Pref.
NBI 8.2 -> NBI 8.3RC2 -> NBI 8.3RC3 -> NBI 8.3RC5 -> NBI 8.3 alpha
