Default clamshell.kext alternatives - 02-18-2009, 01:08 PM

Does any one know how clamshell.kext does it's thing? I was looking for the source code but the guy who make the thing retired it and did not share with the community what the internals where. This is sad.

I have been trying to figure out what it does so we can one day free ourselves from it's claw. I have found this very interesting post about a way to do so on the eeePC:

and I have tried probably 30 different way of doing similarly with out DSDT file without any success.

If you guys are into playing with DSDT BIOS code or know of a way of finding/reproducing what clamshell.kext does please pitch in.
