Default External Monitor Script question/request - 02-12-2009, 06:58 AM

Does anyone know where to get or how I can make a script that does the following:

once OS X recognizes that it's attached to an external LCD to automatically disable spaces, and when the external is unplugged to re-enable spaces and re-set the bottom right corner to spaces in expose?

I ended up buying a new 24" lcd, which I just don't need spaces for anymore, but when my mini isn't hooked up spaces is awesome. Right now, when the monitor is plugged in I can disable spaces and just run it as is. But once I'm not at my desk, I have to re-enable spaces and also set expose for spaces again. It's not a deal breaker or anything... just looking for something to be a little more convenient. Anyone know how to do this, or willing to teach? I'm new to OS X in general. Most of the searches I've seen don't really go in this direction.

I am not much of an Apple Script guy but I know its very functional. With the apple script/automator combo you can script pretty much anything you can do with the KB and mouse. This isn't something I have ever heard of being done so I suggest research and a bit of trial and error. There are lots of Automator guides out there.
