SpeedStep SuperHai driver not working... - 02-11-2009, 03:18 AM
I've tried to use SuperHai VoodooPower.kext and GenericCPUPowerManagement Application on my wife's Mini9.
Installation inside DellEFI "Extra" folders ran ok and the Application correctly throttle frequency and voltage of the N270.
I had few time to check battery duration under normal workload compared to standard Apple power management. However, it was not "night and day" (around 3 hours in both case).
I had to uninstall it quickly because :
- sound was choppy when CPU load was varying,
- there was a kernel panic when my wife try to listen music over internet using Safari and Flip4Mac codec.
If someone else want to give it a try...

There are a LOT of posts on here about speedstep. There are a lot of issues, and its not helping people time-wise by anything more than a few extra minutes of battery life.
