I am getting ready to install OS X on my mini. I am going to follow the Boot123 official how to. On step 6 it says, 6. update to 10.5.6 and any of the other updates, reboot (Skip this step if your OSX install disc is already 10.5.6). I am using the original 10.5 DVD image. I have the update to 10.5.6 on my laptop. How can I do this update without an external CD. Can I throw the *.dmg update file onto the OS X image and browse to it? It's been a minute since I've done a fresh install and don't quite remember how I can do the update from here. Could I use CD sharing to share the update somehow?
I am actually deployed and internet is about the same speed as 56k. So downloading it is pretty much out of the question. Plus MAC filtering pretty much kills all hopes of online updates. Can you spoof your MAC address on a Mini? Thanks in advance.
