I don't know much about Mac's, but isn't OS-X a derivative of FreeBSD - which in itself is a derivative (or is it a clone, I can never remember) of Unix?
Why not use SSH? It's built into the OS... http://www.panix.com/help/sw.macosx-ssh.html

Behold... SSH Tunneling.. I use it everytime I'm at StarBucks.. Mostly just as an encrypted proxy to keep my packets scrambled..

Thanks for the link! best explanation yet on how to easily use ssh!
Now a quick question to all who might know. How do I use ssh to make my VNC access secure? I'm using tightVNC to connect to my computer.
Thanks in advance.
