2 GB SD Cards work great with Beta 2.

Great work, men. (think of opening donation on sourceforge, seriously).

Type11 and I are probably going to open a donation link that donates to Big Brothers & Sisters rather than to us. Need to figure out how to do that, though.

Just out of curiosity, I loaded the b2 driver, and put in the only card I have around - a 16 Meg MMC (it came with an old camera, back when that wasn't a joke, and people still used MMC).

It causes the mouse to stop responding while the card is plugged in; when I remove the card it starts to work again.

Just thought someone might find that interesting - I doubt it's worth any trouble to make MMC work, in this day and age where everyone uses SD.

Ooh. That's fun. Wonder what causes that... Unfortunately, I don't have an MMC card to test with. I suspect that it's getting hung up trying to detect the card. I didn't think I was supposed to get card insertion notifications for anything other than SD since there are other PCI devices for the MMC and MSPro readers.

Actually I'm pretty sure MMC and SD use the same controller and it's only MS/MSPRO that is separate. I get very similar hang ups when I use a non high-speed card in high-speed mode, an SDHC card, or try to read a cards SCR register (Which I guess I'm just doing wrong) so I'd say it's just the driver trying to use an unsupported function or trying to execute a command in a way which is incorrect for MMC and the card or host end up in the wrong state.

Try compiling the driver with the NO_RESET_WAR define commented out. Extra resets have helped me get rid of some similar hang time. (Not that they've made what I was trying to do work any better)

Yeah, I think MMC is the same as SD in a lot of ways..

Maybe one of us could send fgodfrey a MMC card..

They're really close. From reading the Linux driver, though, I know that I'm sending SD only commands to the card. Not sure if I'll do MMC, but at a bear minimum, the driver shouldn't hang the machine if you put in a card!

My priorities for a 1.0 release, though, are SDHC, 4-bit, high-speed, and a locking problem on the Aspire One (that's basically fixed).

Yeah, I agree with those priorities completely. That would be quite nice.

Just put a 16GB SDHC card in my wife's camera (for video) and put her 2GB SD in the mini9 - came up the second time I inserted it.
Formatted it with Disk Utility, working great, thanks.
