Here's mine. It's a Kingston 32gb Class 4 SDHC card which always unmounts after erasing/partitioning and never mounts when you reinsert it. Thanks!

So are all Kingston SDHC cards biffing in the mini? I just purchased a Kingston 8GB SDHC Class-6 for my mini which will arrive tomorrow -- is it likely that this SDHC card won't work?

I am not computer smart. I am a computer idiot. I want to add a 16BG SD card to my Mini 9. Can someone please explain to me if I can do this by just plugging it in? If not, can someone please explain to my like I'm a moron how to do this? I appreciate all of the work and advice that everyone fills these forums with!

Yes, just plug it in. It should work fine.

FYI optima 8gig SDHC from Best Buy (cheap $19) works just great.

Seems that a good test for a properly working SDHC card is to copy a large DMG file onto it (maybe even from a Windows PC), then try to mount the DMG.

This is what I cannot do. When I try to mount the DMG (more than one I tried), it fails with an input/output error.

Small files seem to be fine.

Give it a try with a full 4GB DMG file.

I can mount big DMG files through my Kingston SDHC 8GB Class-6 just fine. I've installed numerous applications this way. However, when I create new folders on my SDHC and then update iPhoto, iTunes to use these new Folders, everything seems great, but if I restart (or even if it goes to sleep) when I recheck the SDHC, the folders I created have disappeared. It seems that if I create the folders through my MacBook Pro, they remain, but not through my MacBook Mini. :/

BTW, I've formatted my SDHC to Mac OS Extended. I'm going to try going back to FAT32 to see if that helps. Then I will try my 4GB SanDisk Extreme III Card that I use for my Canon SD880IS. I'll let everyone know how that goes.

Hello

Using your method I was able to get my 8Gb SDHC card to work in the SD slot.

Thanks for your hard work!
