Thanks bzylg!

For bewildered Snow Leopard users (me), here's SL instructions:
1. Download UK_mini.keylayout.zip from the link above
2. Open - it'll unzip into Downloads as UK_mini.keylayout
3. In Terminal (is there a GUI way to do this?):
sudo cp ~/Downloads/UK_mini.keylayout /Library/Keyboard\ Layouts
4. Log out & back in
5. Open System Preferences -> Language & Text -> Input Sources tab
6. In search box at the bottom, type uk
7. You'll see UK_mini and Ukranian. Check UK_mini.
8. 'Show Input menu in menu bar' will auto-check and you'll see a Union Jack. You can close System Preferences.
9. Click the Union Jack and choose UK_mini

Cheers, al.
