Default Time Capsule - 02-01-2009, 03:27 PM

I have searched here and Google but I can't seem to find a definitive answer.
I am running OS X 7.5.6 with Type11 install. I have a 32GB Runcore and 2GB RAM.
I want to get a Time Capsule. Do I need to change the wireless card in my system to get this to work?
I know n is faster than g but I'm wondering if it's needed. I see that people are using Time Capsule, but do I need any other upgrade to get it to work?
I mainly want time machine and extra storage for my Mini.

Thanks in advance and sorry if it was posted and I'm being blind.

No. They're all backwards compatible. You'll be fine using an 802.11g card.

Its not that they're backwards compatible as much as it is that the Time Capsule has a 'g' radio in it AND an 'n' radio. So, since your mini has a g card in it, you can connect with the TC's g radio just fine.

For the record, I have a mini9 Type117.9 osx10.5.6 and use my TC for both Time Machine backups and extra storage space. It kind of seems insane to use the TC for Time Machine...its a 500gb disk in that sucker and the mini I'm running has a 32gb runcore...oh well. I got the TC to use with my iMac but was not pleased with the speed of transfer when entering time machine to restore something, so I switched the iMac back to a USB disk for Time Machine...And I hate a TC sitting around not being used.
