I'm trying to figure out why the GPS in my WWAN card doesn't seem to get a location lock very easily (or keep it very long when it DID get a lock).
If you could:
Is your SIM card activated?
When you were using Windows, did you use a fresh install? what flavor?
Did you reinstall the WWAN card drivers to get access to the GPS via the DELL GUI or did you activate it via HyperTerm?
When I was testing my system I was running from a stock WinXP Home install w/a virgin unactivated AT&T SIM, activating the GPS via hyperterm, and looking at the output via EarthBridge.
The card took forever to find some satellites. It took even longer to get a location lock. When it DID get a lock it often lost it within a second or two. It only found three satellites max.
If I can figure out what it takes to get THIS working, I plan on working on getting GPS under OS X next.
