Default my costs/benefits installing OSx - 05-18-2012, 11:32 PM

i really like the idea of having snow leopard on my mini -- it's what's got me hanging in there -- but so far things are not working out.

the costs...
36 hours invested reading guides/posts, trying various install procedures
1 external hard drive - $34 (still works but i found out i don't need it anyway)
1 SL 10.6.3 install disk - $30 (no longer works, ruined during nbi install)
1 16 GB memory stick - $14 (has SL 10.6.3 image on it but it's configured with "Apple Partition Map'. maybe that's i'm getting an endless re-boot?)

the benefits...
no benefits yet, i'm stuck in an endless reboot, the darwin startup options don't

pleaseeeeeee, if you have thoughts on how i can get this bad boy to work, let me know. my config...

1012- not suited to OSX -no QE/CI- limited functionality
Hacks gonna require trial and error, and reading. Suggest using the $34 external drive to make a clone when you get installed, as small errors can cause the exact same feeling you have now.
