I have had nothing but macs since 2002 and this is my first PC purchase since then. I told myself I would give Ubuntu a week before I installed OS X. Ubuntu only lasted 3 days before I couldn't live without my favorite apps any longer.

My Mini has 1GB ram and 16GB Dell Solid State Drive. At first it was annoying not being able to sleep... but it was still better than windows or ubuntu. That has since been fixed and I have since scored a 32GB Runcore.

Now I have plenty of breathing room. I have all my favorite apps on this thing. I have Adobe CS3 on it. Indesign and Photoshop run fine for the work I have done so far.

It being a hackintosh does at the likelihood of failure I would say. You have all the normal Mac ways of failing (1/2 installed updates, and other things can cause boot issues) but then you also have the hackintosh boot issues.

For this reason I have quiet boot off but Timeout set for 1 second. So I have 1 second to interrupt the boot before it just loads OS X... Just in case

With OS X running on this Dell I sold my MacBook Air. This netbook is that good.

500MHz PowerBook G3 40GB/1GB/Tiger
