you need to use ...351 if you're updating to 10.6.4 though 10.6.7; otherwise you normally get a kernel panic.

Thanks Oscar !
For some reason I kept thinking that 8.4 rc1 was newer. Maybe I saw it after I saw 351 ?
I even quickly looked at melkort's blog to see if I could confirm what was up.
Totally missed it on page 2 of his blog. Sheesh… Duh
You are correct.
Since the thread now exists I may as well make it semi-useful by explaining
in additional detail for anyone else with the same question….
According to Melkort's blog…
-March 27, 2010 NBI 0.8.4 rc1 Released
Quote: "For those of you wanting to update to 10.6.4 with NBI, please
note that there is a slight issues wiht NBI and large
/System/Library/Extensions folders, the 10.6.4 undate increates
this folder above the threshold, and so NBI is unable to
regenerate the Extensions.mkext correctly"
Which was why a fix was released:
-June 17, 2010 NBI 20100616212351 (aka NBI Special or NBI351)
Cheers All
