Okay, I haven't worked with mac's in ten years. I have some working knowledge of linux, so I can probably handle some of the special commands used. I have some very basic questions, I hope these have not been asked before....probably not since most of you are actual mac users.
1) When the OS X gets upgraded to Snow Leopard, is that the end of support for the Leopard or do updates continue for it also?
2) Snow leopard looks to be some minor improvements that probably wont matter much on our minis....but lets say the next revision is a little better and I want to jump to that. Does Mac sell upgrade discs, or do you basically buy a full version disc again and do the upgrade that way? IE windows upgrade vs a windows full disc has a severe price difference is what I'm getting at, or is it one disc for Mac (which is alot more reasonable than windows).
3) I am looking at the box set that is available for pre-order. This includes iWork, iLife, and Mac os x 10.5.6....is this pretty much all thats needed to be fairly productive? I mean, some minor photo editing, maybe create a document here or there (I rather not use OpenOffice), etc.....seems to be a reasonable price bundled this way. Or is iWork and iLife a total waste of money?
4) Will a 32Gb suffice for this type of installation? I have read about slimming down the OS install and I imagine I can elect to not install some of the other items in iLife and iWork as well to save space....or would I be better off with a 64GB runcore? I dont want to be fighting for free space from the get go.
Those are my basic questions. I've studied the install procedures and some of the other recommendations so hopefully all goes well once the software arrives. Thanks all for you help. And I again apologize if this has been covered before.
