Default Beginner on OSX - Will swap the HD from 11z to xps1340 - 02-22-2011, 06:38 PM

Because I cannot wait for somebody to come up with proper support on QE/CI, sound and ethernet, I will experiment swapping out my HD's with 10.6.6 on 11z and hope I will not get a kernel panic. (uname -a gives me 10.6.0 Darwin Kernel)

My 1340 has 9500m gs[(sli) 9400GSM+9200] AND 1510n SO I think it will be supported. Anyway It has a very crappy dvd tray (too noisy for my ear) so might as well use it and load a UNIX based OS.

Will I have a usable system by just swapping out the HD? 11z is good with 1366x745 resolution (xdpyinfo) but no sound and ethernet. No QE/CI too.
