Default Hibernate made easy (...easier than...) - 02-20-2011, 04:10 PM

Hibernate works for me under 10.6.6, though I had to tinker w/ the states to get it to work the way I wanted.

My favorite interface for it is SafeSleepOnce, which you can find at Software For Mac | SafeSleepOnce . It is no-mess, no-fuss, always-works. And it is free.

With 2GB of SDRAM and a 128GB SSD installed, wake from hibernate takes under 30 seconds, so it is a very good alternative to restarting (never need to do that unless I install system-related software).

BTW, here is a system pref pane called SmartSleep, which is good for selecting/setting the hibernate mode. I think I've seen someone mention this before in this forum.
