Default Upgrading Type11 revisions? - 01-15-2009, 03:44 PM

I partitioned some disk space on my MacBook Pro and set up my install of mac os with everything updated and all my applications installed.

I restored this partition to my RunCore SSD via usb stuck it in my Mini 9 and booted off a USB stick with the Type11v7.7/8 installed on it... well tried to boot.

For some reason would hang on booting. I finally rolled the USB stick back to v7.1 since I still had that ISO laying around and booted fine. Ran the SimpleScripts and now am able to boot off the SSD.

Now that I have my Mini working off v7.1 I want to update to v7.8. I downloaded the v7.8 ISO to my macine mounted the install DMG and ran the SimpleScript. It bounced in the dock for a minute then the notification that identifies the application as open and running in the dock disappeared but the SimpleScript icon remained in the dock. ActivityMonitor showed the application as running and I couldn't restart because logout complained of it still running. I could not click on the icon to quit it.

***Sorry for being so verbose I want to provide as much information for debugging.

What is the best method for updating the Type11 revisions?

Just downloading the ISO and running the applications again? or booting off the USB/CD and running the application again.

For some reason I can boot off of a v7.7 or v7.8 USB stick to run the update.

Any thoughts?

I had this happen to me, try copying the miniscript directly to the desktop and run it from there.
