Great update experience - 01-07-2011, 08:38 PM
I had similar, great update experience on 10v.
I updated from Software Update, restarted, NBI worked for about 5 minutes, then desktop appeared and I went back to work.
Easy to do, very little attention needed.

Strange thing happened to me and I don't know what it was.
2 days ago I updated without any issues to 10.6.6. Lately I installed from the appstore autodesk's sketch book free. I played a little with the app and turned off the computer. On the next day I couldn't start the computer (dell mini 9). No boot loader. I started the install usb and the disk utility gave me the disk as free never formatted. I tried to mount it with linux, but no partition was there. Yesterday I reinstalled, updated to 10.6.6 and no problems so far, but I am scared to open the appstore again. It could be ssd problem, but my is new - 1 month. So I don't know what to say.
ssaito0527, I had similar problem - it looks that hybernation is activated despite of sleep. Chek when run NBI - hybernation (currently enabled/disabled). If it is enabled, run in terminal
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
and it will fix.

I also updated using the software update. I ran the NBI first, installed the update, restarted and waited about 5-10 minutes and I was on 6.6. I did have to rerun NBI to get my sound and have noticed that when it goes to a screensaver and sits for a while, my sound will go out...a reboot will fix it.
Thats my update.
