Is you Finder bar at the top of the screen transparent, or do the previews of the screen savers work properly? If not, I would run the newest version of NBI to install the Extensions for your mini. It's in the first post here- **OFFICIAL** Mac OS X 10.6.4 Update Thread 10V | OS X 10.6.7 | NBI 20100616212351 |BIOS 06|160 GB|1 GIG RAM| 6 Cell Dell Battery Functioning Hibernation Back up Mini 9| OS X 10.6.7| NBI 20100616212351| BIOS 05 | 32 GB SuperTalent | 2 GIGS RAM |

Your recommendation was completely on point. Thank you so much! I'm now experience the "snappier" performance from 10.6.5 that everyone's been talking about...or possibly placebo effect from how choppy everything was running before your recommendation. I followed these instructions: Boot into recovery mode and then open the Terminal from your /Applications/Utilities folder. Type "cd /System/Library/Extensions" and hit enter. Then type "sudo rm -rf NVD* ATI* GeForce* AppleIntelGMAX3100*" and hit enter. Run NBI, reboot, and you should be good! However, since OS X was working, I didn't have to boot into recovery mode. FYI for others in the same circumstances. | |
