Re: Howto: OSX and Windows7 on GUID based disk (w/bootloader) - 01-15-2009, 01:22 PM
Thanks for posting the printout of the error. That is what I am getting as well. I am trying to install this on a new runcore 64 g. Just trying to figure out what could be different and causing the issue.
I have redone the install to rule out any problems, and now am stuck at the same error. I also tried the newest version of gptsync- with a dec 12th build for os x, as I noticed the one that was linked was from Sept. That gave the same error. I am again thinking that it is not letting disk0 be wrtiable, and thus giving the error. If anyone beside the author of the tutorial is able to get this working, please post so that we can try to rule out what is different and causing issues. As always, that for the help on this forum- great group of people....

I am getting error as well, the other day I finnaly got fed up and just formated my drive and installed it all Windows 7. But before doing that I tried a few things, at different intervuls you get different errors if you try to write using gptsync. If you run it before you run the DellMiniScript from Type 11's install I got an error stating that it could not write becuase of a bad block. If you run it after the update the drive becomes locked and read only and will give the above error. I think what is happening is the GPT is messed up to the point that it is not allowing GPTsync to write the new mbr. But more reasearch would have to be done to confirm that. I will keep watching this thread for an answer and hope that evenutaly everyone will have the same easy experince as the orginal poster.
