Default ***OFFICIAL*** 10.6.5 Update Thread - 10-26-2010, 05:46 AM

Thought I'd post this since 10.6.5 is all upons. Any information about how this will effect the 10v would be great. I personally will be holding out until I know its safe to install. The last thing I need is another kernel panic.

Word is that its going to mostly have stuff for the iPad 4.2 update to assist with wireless printing.

No one knows, the Beta isn't even out yet. Just keep in mind that a lot of the functions of Lion have to do with multi-touch and the 10V's trackpad is marginal at best even after applying mods to it. So as I said in another thread, I suspect there will be a lot of Mini's on the market as "some" people move to the 11" Mac Air.

Sorry, I was referring to a patch coming to Snow Leopard which is coming sometime between now and the end of November.

10.6.5 works fine with the version of NBI for 10.6.4. There are no changed needed.

There was no change needed for 10.6.4 either, NBI 0.8.4 RC1 worked fine *if* you didn't have too many extensions, it had nothing to do with the update itself. So yes, you *could* you RC1 with 10.6.5 if you had fewer extensions installed to (in fact, the version for 10.6.3 is the exact same as the version for 10.6.4, just with the size limit doubled, it'll be removed in the future).

The only place to get the 10.6.5 beta is from apple's website if you are a developer.

the 11" air is 1366 x 768, so i doubt it will affect the minis too much. every over-sized window i've ever come across is just barely out of reach.

how do you get accreditation for that?

yes that's true. the space needed for extensions fell short of the allotted room, remember deleting stuff now you come to mention it.

the 11" air is 1366 x 768, so i doubt it will affect the minis too much. every over-sized window i've ever come across is just barely out of reach.

Ermm yeah I was thinking more of the ghosting thing, dunno if you've tried switching planes in System preferences but the programmed spacing goes haywire and the buttons disappear leaving you to guess where they are, still active though.. so it's only a quibble.

just wondered if the new Air small screen legacies sorted that? although as you say probably not..

Well, 10.6.5 is out today. Post your experience if you updated. I haven't yet (need this thing for school, and midterms is not a good time to have to mess with stuff).
