Tried to install the update as others but package ended in failure. Now can not boot but get KP. So I restored from my Time Machine backup and now all I can get is a spinning gear that will not go on. Anyone have any ideas? All was working fine and I have a fresh TM backup from this morning.

Recommend NOT restoring --- I had luck using recovery=y by holding shift down as you boot. Then When you see the HD image, just start typing recovery=y and press enter...
Then run netbookinstaller and run update extra and reboot
Shoud do it.

I installed the combo updater & got a kernel panic upon restart after NetbookInstaller had done its thing. I restarted from a USB HD with 10.6.4 & ran NetbookInstaller on the RunCore drive. The restart was VERY slow; the spinner below the Apple logo went on for much longer than usual then it hung at the 1st blue screen. I did it all over again then let it sit at the blue screen & eventually the desktop showed up, everything loaded, & I got that comforting start-up chime.
TimeMachine is now making a back-up of the RunCore drive. I would have never done this update without a working bootable backup drive.

My speakers and headphone jack always worked anyway.

Ugh. I tried installing this update, but once the download finished and tried installing it failed.
Ran NBI that coder12 linked to.
Downloaded/Installed update (which failed)
PC restarted and now won't boot
Can I get some help?

wish me luck - plain vanilla 10.6.4 being patched.. 2mins to go (has iPhone SDK installed)
ok - progress
-Downloaded 10.6.5 combo via eMac
-Copied combo upgrade from eMac to extHD, hooked extHD to mini9, ran combo patch from extHD - after some time it reported it was successful and to click restart to restart the computer.
-Before clicking restart button I ran the latest NIB I had used for 10.6.4 (installed in my applications folder), let it do its thing, seems it took longer than normal and after it said it completed, then I clicked on the restart button from the combo upgrade window.
Mini9 booted and it is now 10.6.5 - sound works - I dont have bluetooth so no worries there for me, and I dont need a mic (so i didnt test that in the previous install). wifi/airport seems to be working fine too.
Note: computer was not connected to the network during upgrade / just plugged in to AC (not sure if that matters).
