Recently I upgraded my Mini to 10.6.5. I had some issues with booting and sound, but I've gotten them taken care of. My biggest problem now is I cannot access the internet via WiFi.

According to my Mini, I have no Airport Card installed (but I do).

Can someone help me with this?

Just did the 10.6.5 update tonight on my 9. No issues at all - sound has never been a problem for me.

Yep it works fine (tried the same thing on two 10v's I've got).

What I did was:

1. Go to 'System Preferences > Security' & untick 'Use secure virtual memory'
2. Rebooted
3. Open up the 'Terminal' & typed
sudo pmset -g
to confirm where the 'sleepimage' was & what state my sleep was in (mine was set to hibernatemode 0)
4. Removed the 'sleepimage'
sudo rm /var/vm/sleepimage
5. Enabled both sleep & deep sleep by typing
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 3
6. Closed the lid & waited for it to sleep (which will take a little longer before the light starts to blink)
7. Removed the battery then inserted it back & powered it back on
8. Low & behold! it brought me back to my desktop with the 'terminal' window still open on my desktop.

YMMV, though as I said I tried it on two 10v's & both are hibernating fine

Thank You Meklort & everyone else who contributes
Thanks! I had lost the feature after the 10.6.5 update. I tried your above instructions except that after the uncheck of secure virtual memory I forgot to reboot, but did the trick.

One thing I've noticed is my camera is now not working (but I did add the BlueTooth widget at the same time).

FaceTime, Photobooth both used to work, but don't now.

Will start searching for an answer.

EDIT - Fixed it. Shutdown, pulled out power cable, held down power button for 10 secs, plugged in power cable, switched on. It's a

Default Going from 10.6.3 to 10.6.5 - 11-26-2010, 04:33 PM

I have a dell mini 10v Inspiron Mini 10v (model 1011)

I was at 10.6.3 and everything worked fine, I decided to upgraded to 10.6.5

I ran NBI 0.8.4 RC1

ran os updates

When machine rebooted I got a kernel panic. after digging around I think this is because I never did 10.6.4 and applied those patches.

I had to boot off my usb install stick and run NBI 0.8.4 RC1 from that, I just did chameleon, the machine would reboot and boot into osx BUT if I restart again I get the kernel panic.

so I booted off USB installer and ran NBI 0.8.4 RC1 and did chamelon and rebooted

then I ran Netbookinstaller 20100616212351 (which fixes issues for 10.4)

Now everything seems to be working!!!!!!!

My questions are

1. Did I miss anything?

2. what does Netbookinstaller 20100616212351 do?

3. People refer to recovery=y... what is that? what countdown screen??? when I run NBI i don't see a countdown screen to type this in, and obvious you can't type it in if you kernel panic.

Hi all, it's been a while since I've been back here!

can someone point me to a guide for my Mini 9? I'm on 10.6.2 and would love to upgrade to the 6.5 release! Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Hi. Just wanted to post some positive feedback for 10.6.5. I am dual booting (OS X and Win 7) on a Mini 9. I was at 10.6.3. I ran the combo upgrade, then ran NBI, then rebooted. Everything seems great so far.
