I am having the exact same issue, though I have not reinstalled the OS X, I have however reinstalled the DellEFI. I was however able to get the System Profiler to fin the card, it says now under Network->Airport Card: Wireless Card Type: Thirs Party Wireless Card , I am NOT able to turn it ON however!

Found the problem!
