Default recovery=y does not work?? - 09-22-2010, 04:07 AM

I accidentally did a software up date to 10.6.4 while updated ilife... it was suppose to be updating imovie but it did more
now i'm getting the kernal panic grey screen

went to the screen with the 3 icons while hold the shift key... the bottom lefthand corner had a " boot: "
typed in recovery=y and enter and it goes right back to kernal panic ... tried writing it with capitals and spaces and nothing new happens
even tried -x and it returns to kernal panic

is there another way to get to the recovery mode ?

or is there another way to fix the NBI?

ofcourse i have stuff on the netbook that i'd hate to lose... is there a way to load the update from my pc onto a thumbdrive and get the netbook to install it ?

anyhelp would be appreciated

I have the same problem. Try posting under the 10.6.4 update sticky thread.
