Run the latest version of Netbook Installer again.
If that doesn't help reboot.

As to the drive - where is it?
Is it a USB CD/DVD drive or the drive on another Mac?

Do a spotlight search (click the magnifying glass in the top right) for UpdateExtra, and run it. Update extensions.

Next, run OnyX (download from here: Apple - Downloads - System/Disk Utilities - OnyX) and fix permissions (maintenence -> permissions -> execute) and rebuild the launcher (maintenece -> rebuild -> make sure "LaunchServices" is checked -> execute).

Next, run install and run the NBI found here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/863180/Netbo...212351.app.zip

Reboot.

This has been covered in another thread, also, it just happens randomly, the following have been outlined as fixes:

1) Reboot between 1 and 5 times
2) Run NBI 0.8.4 RC1 with only Dell Mini 10V extensions selected
3) Run Update Extensions

Some combination of the above should work
