New BOOT 123 Method TEST ONLY - 01-10-2009, 12:50 AM
I was looking at making the stupid freeze on running mini-script thing go away with a new iso that did not need an install.dmg image. Well ends up with either hybrid or rock ridge the file names once you get into the kexts are too long still even with those methods (total path length). So I could not get rid of the install.dmg image, grrr....
However I did clean things up and moved all the folder into MiniScript.app/Content/Resources
I also tried to get fancy and added a menu to the boot123 cd with parted on there. I think I might have got a splash image to work as well.
I have used 2 different methods and if anyone can test and
#1. See if the images boot your machine (and note which number _1 or _2) and it you can then boot leo retail. this test is not destructive in any way.
#2. If you can you can try miniscript and run new install. this should be very low risk but I have not been able to try it myself. Nothing really changed but structure. But I would not try this on a system unless you have the 7.7 iso handy if something goes south.
