Default Mini Mac back up with Super Duper - 07-15-2010, 10:01 PM

New to MAC OS X, want to keep the used/old mini mac
I bought a used/older mini mac on e-bay to make my bootable disk to change Dell Mini 10v over to SL 10.6.0 Things went fine and am now gifting the new Dell Mini Mac Cleve to my daughter for grad school. Questions regarding backing up the used/old mini mac using super duper. It has an Apple keyboard and I do not know which function key to push to ask it to boot from the USB port. Any OSX advice greatly appreciate. Regards. UNCNDL1,

Mini 10v/1GB RAM/160GB HD/ BIOS A06/SL 10.6.6
Mini 9 /2GB RAM/ 16GB SSD/BIOS A05/SL 10.6.6
OSX Installation via USB & Mac

If it is a Mac Mini from Apple, you hold the option key while booting up to select which drive to boot from.

I'm not sure the PPC based Mac Minis can boot from USB. If it is an Intel based Mac Mini, it should be fine.

Yes, but they can they all boot up from a USB hard drive ? I know they older model Mac's that are PPC won't, they are limited to Fire Wire external drives.

you can also if your apple mini is booted >> systems preferences >> start up disk >> the clone >> restart.
