I cannot update my Dell Mini9 using any of the NBI versions on this thread.
I am able to successfully get OSX 10.6.3 freshly installed and working fine on my Dell mini 9 using the OSX USB build instructions on this site.
Everything works fine on 10.6.3 - wireless, camera, sound - sleep mode (after I reboot to Bios and change USB Legacy Support back to "Disabled")
All apps seem to work fine.
However, any attempt I've made in trying to upgrade OSX to either 10.6.4 or 10.6.5 fail when running the standard OSX update installer program. (Combo update is indeed the desktop and NOT the server combo update.)
I'm following Yestertech's guilde in post #11.
Ran current 0.84RC1 before update, to prepare
Ran 10.6.4 combo - "FAILED to UPDATE"
before reboot, open terminal and:
sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/ATI* /Extra.bak/
sudo mv /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce* /Extra.bak/
reboot, wait patiently for NBI
I've tried downloading the OSX update 2 times as well as just using System Update to upgrade. All keep failing during the install. The message at the end of the install says something like "Update Failed, please contact the software manufacturer..."
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing the updates to fail?
My configuration is as follows;
Dell mini 9 / Bios A05 / STEC 64GB SSD
/ 2GB RAM / Broadcom BCM94312MCG wireless / OSX 10.6.3
