Edit : I've just checked previous posts and BIOS A05 is not an issue... Oh well...
I'd be interested in what BIOS versions Mini 9 users are having success with. My 10.6.4 attempt worked, but it would hang after waking from sleep mode. BT was also not reconnecting (related maybe?). Went back to 10.6.2 and all is stable. Once I get everything reinstalled / Time Machined, I may attempt again.

I'm on A04 - Any benefit or drawbacks in upgrading to A05 / A06?

Default 10.6.3 to 10.6.4 - 06-22-2010, 09:12 PM

Followed the instructions on first page of this thread

1. Downloaded meklort #67 NBI
2. Downloaded 10.6.4 Combo Update
3. Run merklot #67 NBI
4. Run Combo 10.6.4 update

Update no problem except the sound icon in the menu bar grayed out. Sleep working fine.

Then did this

1. Run merklot #67 NBI (in options selected fix bluetooth)
2. Run Combo 10.6.4 update
3. Restarted
4. Run Disk Utility to Repair Permissions

I now have bluetooth (external USB device), sound and trackpad all fine.

Sleep does not work, although it worked fine before.

**(UPDATE: Sleep is now working, I just did the above steps again)**

Well I just downloaded and ran the latest NBI aqnd ran the OS X update. Upon reboot instead of the Apple logo I get a Mini 9 logo with an X on the screen and the spinning/loading wheel for about 10 minutes, and what do you know, it just rebooted on it's own as I'm typing this and now has the Apple logo with the spinning wheel and I'm at the desktop.
Looks like another success story here, kudos guys!!

Default Thanks! - 06-23-2010, 12:14 AM

Downloaded and ran Merklot #67 NBI. Restarted.

Downloaded and ran 10.6.4 update (from 10.6.3). Restarted.

Long wait at NBI loading screen (maybe 10 minutes or a little less).

Login screen popped up and I began using 10.6.4.

Sleep = YES. Sound = YES. Bluetooth = NO.

Thanks for everyone's hard work.

Ok I don't mean to be a total newbie but I have had my mini for a while running snow leopard. I just did an update before shutting down now I cannot get it to do anything but go from the dell screen to the apple screen and back. I have tried holding shift and typing recovery=y but no dice just keeps loading the dell screen then the apple screen. I dont know whatI am doing wrong.

just wanted to chime in with my upgrade experience - on a Dell mini 10v:

1. Downloaded post 67 NBI
2. Ran software update - 10.6.4 update
3. Computer restarted - NBI logo for a few minutes
4. Computer restarted into 10.6.4 - everything working perfectly

Thanks for the quick NBI update! This forum, and this project rocks
