No offense, but having to rebuild your HD isn't what I'd call success. The new NBI was supposed to prevent having to do all of this.

I installed other NBI and updated to 10.6.4. After a long wait, I have got to the background of the logon screen. Just the background, no logon options. Then it changes to a pale blue background, then to a slightly darker blue with a black timeshaker at the bottom. It just repeats through these screens over and over. What a surprise, I probably did something wrong. Serves me right for being a beginner. Can anyone help?

UPDATE : I apologise for my retardedness, I installed the NBI from the 10.6.3 forum - which is why i'm a beginner

Default Update original installation USB flash drive? - 06-21-2010, 03:16 PM

After a system update like this, should we update our original USB installation flash drive which we created following mechdrew's installation instructions 1 via Mac.

Currently our install USB has on it 10.6 from the original SL DVD.

What's the best practice for what to do now?

Thanks, meklort, for all of your creative and brilliant work.

Anybody figure this out yet? This is the dreaded "waiting for root device error".

Is it worth risking the upgrade, yet? Is there going to be an "official" NBI release for 10.6.4 or is this the best way to upgrade?

I (thought I'd) reported that rerunning the installer got my battery indicator back. It did that day, but it's gone again today.

Updated my Mini 10v to 10.6.4 from 10.6.3 with the updated NBI found in post #67.

Everything works fine now except the Sleep function.

Any help fixing the Sleep issue is greatly appreciated.
