It should come up as 81, 80 is the internal HDD, 81 should be the first external. In my tests, the Type11 booter automatically figured out which external device was plugged in and made that the default so I could just hit enter.
Did you see my how-to guide and video in the Faq's & How-to's section here? Pretty much the same procedure for a HDD instead of a thumb drive..
Though if you restored the Leopard DVD with a Windows machine, and it ends up working, I'd really like to hear what apps you used to do that so I can incorporate that into the instructions.
