Thanks for this! It worked like a charm. I'm really happy I finally stumbled upon this post.

EDIT: Apparently I spoke too soon! I've since had some issues with this method. Most notably, when waking up from sleep, the keyboard doesn't work at all. I have to switch to US keyboard for it to start working again, and even switching back to "mini" at this point doesn't work. I don't suppose anyone has any ideas? Thanks!

What version of DellEFI are you using? I don't think this has anything to do with the keyboard layout.

I swapped the ' and ; keys using Ukelele, and have had no problems at all. Incidentally, I found that I could not physically swap the keycaps without breaking the delicate plastic tabs that hold them on; I would recommend doing the key swap via Ukelele and leaving the physical keycaps as is.

How did you pop the keys off? I've had no problem with it.

You know, I thought I was using the latest version of DellEFI, as I burned what I believed was the latest boot disk (8.0?). But then I had problems with the 0 being stuck after resuming from sleep, so I just downloaded 1.7 and ran that. I'll try reloading the mini keyboard and seeing if I have any problems.

On a side note, is there any place where I could find an explanation of the custom options for DellEFI? I searched the forum and couldn't find anything, and wasn't sure if any of them would affect the issue I'm having.

Thanks for this quick and easy fix. The remapped apostrophe key works like a charm.

I did the keycap swap using the Cwap "mini" method posted by hypnotmica, and it works great.

Rather than risk ripping off the keycaps though (some have done it flawlessly, while others have suffered damage), I thought, "Surely somebody out there is selling white-letters-on-black keyboard stickers," so I searched eBay and found a fellow selling super cheap (less than $5 shipped) keyboard stickers for various languages. I ordered the German one and will cut the stickers in half vertically and use them that way. Note: I'm not that guy, nor do I know him, so I feel safe posting his eBay link here for reference. Also note that he's not the only fellow selling these out there, and I can't vouch for him (yet) since I just placed the order minutes ago. When they arrive, I'll update this thread with a little product review. His link:

Hope this proves useful to someone else.
